Curriculum for Middle/High School Students

    2005 Case:

Golphin v. State

Oral Argument On-line (Gavel2Gavel)

We have designed the following lesson plans to address a wide range of educational and age levels, with the primary teaching audience to be upper middle and high school social studies or government classes. The format of the lesson plans is, by design, basic and straightforward. The lesson title gives an overview of the topic to be covered. Learning objectives list the specific expectations of each lesson. When and where appropriate, we have attempted to identify the Social Studies Sunshine State Standards and Instructional Practices that relate to our learning objectives. Also, instructional strategies are provided which can assist teachers in reinforcing learning.

For school years 2003-2004, 2002 - 2003, 2000 - 2001, 1999 - 2000, 1998 - 1999, 1997-1998, each lesson plan is geared towards a particular case of the month. Oral argument in each case can be seen live via the Florida Distance Learning Network satellite. Contact your local cable operator for the time and channel of these broadcasts.

Curriculum for Elementary School Students

Currently there are no cases for the elementary school level.  However, staff are working diligently to create lesson plans geared to the primary grades. Please Check back periodically for new pages.
