    SCHEDULING A TOUR

     

    Tour Schedule:

    The current Tour Schedule for both Mock OAs and Educational Tours is listed below:

    NOTE: Mock Oral Arguments are not scheduled during The Supreme Court's Oral Argument Week. Please check the Court's Yearly Schedule for dates before requesting a tour. ****Only one Educational Tour per day (at 3 PM) will be scheduled during Oral Argument week

    The FLORIDA SUPREME COURT ORAL ARGUMENT DATES ARE LISTED BELOW. NO MOCK OA TOURS WILL BE SCHEUDLED DURING THESE DAYS.
    October 2010 - 4, 5, 6, 7, 8,
    November 2010 - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
    December 2010 - 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
     
    January 2011 - 11, 12, 13, 14
    February 2011 - 7, 8, 9, 10, 11
    March 2011 - 7, 9, 10, 11 (Legislature convenes March 8th)
    April 2011 - 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
    May 2011 - 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

    Mondays: No Tours
    Tuesday & Thursday: 9:30am, 11am, 1:30pm and 3pm
    Wednesday: 1:30pm and 3pm
    Friday: Reserved for the Making My Vote Count! Program - Call 850.921.9446 for details.

    Additional Information:

    • Mock Oral Argument groups can include as many as 50 students at a time and can be done in 60 minutes BUT it requires teachers to conduct a pre-visit activity. For more information please contact Tricia Knox (email) in the Public Information Office at 850.921.9446.

    • The PREFERRED time allotment for this activity is 90 minutes. No pre-visit activity is required if choosing the 90-minute option.

    • The current tour schedule above lists the start times for groups two hours apart to accommodate any group that can stay longer than 60 minutes, if needed.

    Steps to Requesting a Tour -

    1. Complete the On-Line Registration Form
    2. Wait for an Outlook Calendar Item to confirm your tour.
    3. A few days prior to the tour, call the Public Information Office at 850.921.9446 to verify your tour.
    4. Show up on time and enjoy the experience.

    Please note: The Florida Supreme Court reserves the the right to cancel any tours that conflict with its normal operation of business.

    Cost to Tour the Court:

    There is no cost to visitors.

    General Information:

    No food or drinks are allowed in the Courtroom. All visitors will pass through a metal detector. Groups visiting the court should arrive a few minutes prior to their scheduled tour to accommodate these procedures.

    No guns, knives or other items construed as a weapon are allowed in the building.

    Accessibility:

    Please notify the Public Information Office at 850.921.9446 of any person needing a special accommodation to visit the Court so that advance arrangements can be made. Also note that our wheel-chair entrance is located at the rear of the building (Bronough Street).

    Parking:

    Visitor Parking is available in the Kleman Plaza Parking Garage located one block north of the Supreme Court Building. See www.tallahasseedowntown.com for additional parking
