Alfonso Green v. State of Florida

Green was tried, convicted, and sentenced to death for the first-degree murders of Robert and Dora Nichols. After this Court affirmed Green's convictions and death sentences, the parties stipulated that Green had received ineffective representation at the penalty phase. The trial court approved the parties' stipulation and granted Green a new penalty phase. Green was again sentenced to death for the murders of the Mr. and Mrs. Nichols. This is the direct appeal of the death sentences imposed at Green's penalty phase retrial.ÃÂ

Sousa was convicted of two counts of attempted murder with a firearm and one count of aggravated assault with a firearm from an incident at the Naples-Fort Myers greyhound track involving three victims with two victims being shot. The trial court imposed consecutive minimum mandatory sentences in accord with the 10-20-Life Statute and the district court reversed finding only concurrent sentences were allowed. This Court accepted jurisdiction based upon express conflict to determine if consecutive or concurrent sentences were appropriate.ÃÂ

Carolyn R. Wade v. Michael D. Hirschman

As part of their divorce, Wade and Hirschman were ordered to have rotating custody of their child in an arrangement favoring the mother. Later, the trial court ordered it changed to favor the father. The Fifth District Court affirmed on appeal.
